Um funcionário de cartório recebe de seu chefe imediato a tarefa de elaborar uma planilha de custos do mês de maio. Em dois dias ele entrega o trabalho pronto, seu chefe fica satisfeito e elogia o trabalho. Eufórico o funcionário sai correndo e gritando, rola no chão em cambalhotas, é abraçado por seus colegas, arranca a camisa e cai no choro. Agora o mundo real: depois de preencher corretamente a planilha o funcionário volta discretamente para sua sala, arruma suas coisas e vai para casa descansar da rotina que cumpre, fielmente, há vinte anos.
Continuemos no mundo real, jogo decisivo, Copa do Brasil, o vencedor vai para a final. Último minuto da prorrogação, zero a zero, a bola teima em não entrar, eis que, de repente, o craque do time, salário milionário, finta o zagueiro, rompe o ferrolho, encobre o goleiro e faz a bola dormir no fundo da rede. Ele arranca a camisa (toma cartão amarelo), sai correndo e gritando, rola pelo chão em cambalhotas, é abraçado por seus colegas, a torcida vai à loucura, ele chora copiosamente, o jogo termina e nosso craque vira herói, o comentário quase exclusivo por toda a semana que antecede a final.
O funcionário do cartório e o funcionário do grande clube de futebol, o primeiro mal pago, o segundo milionário. A diferença de salário seria a diferença da alegria diante do gol? Ambos cumpriram suas obrigações profissionais. O jogador terminou sua tarefa tanto quanto o funcionário do cartório, não haveria o que comemorar… ou haveria? Nenhuma tarefa de rotina profissional produziria tanta alegria.
Por mais que alguns insistam em dizer que o futebol profissional deixou de ser jogo para ser apenas uma profissão, diante do gol os jogadores insistem no contrário. Jogador é contratado profissionalmente para jogar bem e produzir vitórias, títulos e lucros para seu clube, em troca de salários, alguns deles, altíssimos. Jogador não é contratado para rir ou chorar, para comemorar gols e vitórias com choros, risos, cambalhotas, abraços, beijos, gritos. Jogador não é contratado para brigar com adversários, para festejar com a torcida, para brincar com a bola, para se exibir. Tudo isso que ele faz e para o que não é contratado profissionalmente escapa à profissão, faz parte do jogo, é lúdico. O lúdico é o grande poder, a tentação que nos tira da rotina, que nos faz transgredir regras, que produz as deliciosas irresponsabilidades que temperam nossa vida e a faz valer a pena. O craque, esse que fez o gol decisivo, já fez mais gols que planilhas e ofícios fez o funcionário do cartório em suas rotinas. Fazer gol para o craque é rotineiro. Não é a rotina de gols que o jogador comemora, não é o cumprimento da obrigação que o faz chorar, é o lúdico, é o tanto de lúdico que não está em seu contrato. Não há paixão no documento que ele assinou ao se transferir para o clube, a paixão está no compromisso que nenhum jogador assina, o compromisso com o próprio jogo. Ele não recebe um tostão para isso, ele não presta contas disso ao patrão, mas a si mesmo, aos companheiros, à torcida e ao próprio jogo.
O futebol, como outros esportes, é a boa profissão, embora não consiga se livrar das imundícies que o invadem, trazidas por aqueles que cultuam, acima de tudo, o lucro e seus subprodutos, entre eles, a corrupção. É a boa profissão porque não é só profissão, é também jogo, festa, diversão, lúdico, comemoração da vida. Que fossem assim os cartórios, as agências de publicidade, os escritórios de engenharia e de advocacia, os consultórios médicos e as salas de aula. Quando exercemos um ofício e somos apaixonados por ele, parte do trabalho vira jogo.
Profissão e trabalho têm a ver com promessa, compromisso, esforço, tarefa. Jogo tem a ver com a ação em si mesma, com diversão, com risco, com imprevisibilidade, com vertigem. Juntos formam o casamento perfeito. A festa do artilheiro ao fazer o gol decisivo é uma festa de casamento.
