Mais uma eliminação precoce da seleção brasileira em Copa do Mundo, mais uma vez para um país que nunca foi campeão Mundial. Fatos dessa magnitude, vistos até por quem não acompanha o dia a dia da bola e sim só de quatro em quatro anos, nos ajuda a colocar os pés bem no chão, fincados na realidade e minimizar o falso, enganoso e paralisante mantra de que somos o “país do futebol”.
É incontestável que o Brasil é quem mais conquistou Copas. Porém, as próprias datas dessas conquistas nos evidenciam que fomos vitoriosos em dois blocos bem específicos: de 1958 a 70 com três títulos e depois de 1994 a 2002 fazendo três finais e erguendo dois troféus. São dois recortes pontuais da história em que de fato fomos hegemônicos, porém que não nos colocam como os melhores do mundo de todos os tempos.
Deitamos eternamente no berço esplêndido de que ninguém joga melhor do que o brasileiro, de que aqui naturalmente ‘brotam’ talentos e que o “dom” do futebol é algo inato, que já vem do ventre materno. Essas (falsas) percepções nos levam a não nos esforçarmos muito. Para que eu vou lutar e me dedicar se o meu talento é superior ao dos demais e a qualquer momento esse meu dom pode nos salvar?!
Não cultivamos uma mentalidade vencedora com foco em processos, intensidade, agressividade com e sem a bola, concentração nos noventa minutos de jogo. Por isso – não só por isso, mas muito por isso – tomamos sete da Alemanhã e fomos superados pela Bélgica, Croácia e Noruega. Que tenhamos aprendido a lição.
O talento de Neymar não nos salvou. Até porque não teria como mesmo; ele chegou machucado, não se cuidou por anos, focou nos prazeres imediatos da vida, se machucou demais e etc. Bem diferente do perfil do jogador das seleções que nos eliminaram nas últimas Copas…
